Carmen has undergone considerable restoration in her present ownership, albeit around 2010, the last survey was made of her, in the main this has been mainly cosmetic. She has been languishing in a dry Barn for several years, so need attention before she is recommissioned. Work is required to get the vessel into good condition. Testers Boatyard, Hollowshore, Kent, sold her on, as a "restoration project" to her present owner in 1986. Originally, she was a twin masted Lugger, built circa 1895.
It was decided that she would be re rigged to carry a Gaff Rig, A new rig was made, new spars and sails, and an engine was installed,
