HISTORY & CONSTRUCTION: WALLOP was designed and built by Harry Feltham in Portsmouth in 1929 for her first owner S Tonkin of London W1. Later registered in Southampton, official number 161711. HYPATIA – HISTORY & DESCRIPTION: HYPATIA was built by W Watkins & Co. Blackwall, London to Lloyds 100A1 for P Burnham Esq of Overstrand Mansions, London and first launched in 1896. Built in Oregon Pine for £400 by Moodys of Southampton, she was gaff cutter rigged, with bowsprit and topsail, the designer describing her as having “the general outward character of a pilot fishing boat”.
